Brrr...

It is soo cold here, brrr! I hope where you are, the weather is nice! The windchill here is -35C (-31F). I'm still not feeling great and had a fever today, so this cold is making me feel miserable.

But, now that it is snowy and cold, it is starting to seem more like Christmas - especially because the neighbours already have their Christmas lights up!

One thing I love about this time of year are the holiday movies. Here are my top 5 (which I realize are somewhat childish - but I have a special place in my heart for them!):

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Such a classic. I love it and watch it numerous times during the holidays. Every year, my mom buys me the newest Rudolph Christmas ornament, and I even have a stuffed Bumble.

Muppet Family Christmas
(not to be confused with A Muppet Christmas Carol - although that one is great too).

This one has all the Muppets, even from Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock. This one just makes me smile. I remember we taped it off tv onto VHS years ago when I was little and now it is really hard to find.

Love Actually
(finally, a more grown up one!)

I love Love Actually. It makes me feel so warm inside. It is so romantic and makes me happy. Because the story happens around Christmas, I consider it a Christmas movie (although I watch it all year round).

Frosty the Snowman

This goes hand in hand with Rudolph. I can't watch one without the other.

A Christmas Story

I actually didn't know about this movie until I was in 9th grade when my teacher, Mr. Nelson, played it for us in Language Arts class. On Boxing Day (December 26th in Canada)they play it on tv for 24 hours straight.

What are your favourite holiday movies?

You already picked two of mine! Rudolph and Frosty! I loved them as a child and guess I still am a child :) Don't know if this ever made it to Canada, but I also loved How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the 60s (70s?) cartoon version with Boris Karloff's voice!

P.S. Feel better soon!

I had to tell Bryan what the wind chill was there, because I can hardly believe it. "I'd be wearing those christmas stockings on my hands" he said. LOL It was EIGHTY freaking degrees here today.

Hollie - That is hilarious! I wish it was 80 here! My friend is actually living in Dallas now going to school and always tells me how nice it is. It is soo cold here and what is worse is that it is super dry. Then your eyes get all watery and when you blink, your eyes freeze shut in that quick second, and your eyelashes turn all white. Come to Banff! ;)

-35??? ARGH!! You are taking me back to home at the parents right now and I'm cringing already. Here I was whining about the 5 degree (celsius temps we had this afternoon in southern cal...which btw is VERY COLD for us) wah

I do, however, want to say yippeee to the classics you listed here. Every single one, especially Rudolph, is on my list this year. Oh Holiday television!

xo,
Carrie

Oh I love your picks. I've never seen "Love Actually." ..I know I must be living under a rock. Since you say it is a Christmas movie especially one that is very romantic I'll pick it up to watch during Thanksgiving weekend.

Love Actually is forever my favourite :]
you're still feeling icky? I hope it goes away soon.
Your text at 2:45 AM the other day made me laugh a little, but it sucks you couldn't sleep. I hate stuffed noses.
