McKinley Lauren
Hello weekend, it is nice to see you! I hope you are all having a nice Friday!
Mine has been pretty interesting, including some nice white smoke that smelt like burnt hair rising out of my steering wheel column. No fun - so now I can't drive anywhere and I have to take the car in on Sunday evening to get checked. Not driving isn't usually so bad because Calgary has an ok public transit system and we live close to the train and buses and I have a bike; however, it is freezing outside and we have a lot of snow so it isn't fun to walk (or bike) to the stops and freeze. Not that I had any major weekend plans, but it looks like I'll be bumming around at home. And not only that, but I had plans to go pick up Vietnamese takeout tonight since Joe will be out...but now I cannot. So sad.
In other news, meet Ms. McKinley Lauren, my newest niece (finally a picture)! Is she soo cute or what?
What are your plans this weekend?

Has anyone seen our car?
Oh, there is it. We arrived in Brooks on Friday evening and by early Sunday afternoon, we had to shovel the car out. Joe and I are a pretty good team though, it didn't take too long.

Welcome to the second coldest place on the planet
This morning when I left for work it was -32C (-27F) but the windchill made it feel like -41C (-42F). Weather Now listed Calgary as the second coldest place on the planet.
I just checked it again right now. It is 3:32 in the afternoon, and Calgary is now the sixth coldest place on the planet. Pretty interesting.

Hello, Snow.
Well, on Monday night I went to sleep and there was no snow anywhere in sight. Lately, we have actually had above seasonal weather. But when winter comes, it comes. I took these photos a few hours ago, around noon on Wednesday. Winter is here!

Gift Tags

We still don't have snow here yet but there is a winter storm and heavy snowfall warning for tonight. I am going to bed and there is no snow on the ground - we'll see what I wake up to!
Even without the snow, it is starting to feel like Christmas. I love these Christmas gifts tags from Craftypagan Designs! Especially the 'Do Not Open Until Dec 25th' stickers.
