Bicycle!

The days here have been...inconsistent. One day it is sunny, the next it is very rainy, or, like yesterday, very rainy then very sunny to very rainy. This had made it difficult to get out riding my bike. I love my bike and I love going for rides. But it needs to stop raining and, lets be honest, I need to get off my bum.

I wish Calgary was a better bike city. It has its trails here and there but not a lot of on-road bike lanes and the city is not very accessible to bike - there is so much sprawl. Do you live in a city that is easy to bike?

My friend, Teira, is in the Netherlands on an exchange and one of the first things she did was purchase a bike. She made this very cool video of her commute. I wish!

I miss you, T!

Have a great weekend!

Yeah...so, remember my last post last week saying I was excited to get back to blogging and catching up? Well, this week was crazy! Work, plus volunteer board meetings, plus planes and travel, plus extra editing I do on the side = no time for life. Work, eat, sleep. Next week will not be so busy though - I hope.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Also, will winter EVER END?

Grey day

(via weheartit)

Today, my brother, Diggity (his real name is Cody, but my family has a thing with nicknames), is coming to pick up his passport and then I am going with him back to Brooks to spend some time with my family (before I start working again!). The next few days will be full of baby cuddles, Mario Party, Polly Pocket, and the Wiggles. I love my nieces (plural now!) and nephew and enjoy my time with them so much.

My mom also recently bought a new house! It is exciting but a bit sad at the same time (I told my friend Rath and she actually started tearing up - my mom's house means a lot to a lot of people). There are a ton of memories in her house - my family has been in it for 21 years now. But I guess when you go from a family of 8 (the most that lived in the house at once) to 2...there is just a lot of space for her to maintain. She isn't moving right away because she has to do a major downsize so it will be another year or so and she is renting it out until then. She is so excited and I am excited to see it for the first time!

The past few days have been so warm and sunny - the major melt has begun and Oswald has very much enjoyed laying in the sun. Today, however, is very grey. Nothing is blooming here yet and still no green but it seems spring is on its way!

Hope you are all having a great week so far!!

Sleepy

It is amazing how warm and lovely -5C feels. It is kinda sad that everyone is talking about it. It really isn't that warm at all - but after a week of -30C, it is the greatest thing.

Even so, I wish I were here:

Joe has been working nights the past few weeks and tonight around 8 he mentioned how tired he felt. I suggested he have a quick nap before he started work and I would lay down with him. Next thing I know, it is a little before 10:30 and I wake up exhausted and he has been working for over an hour. I'm in bed now, decided to do a quick post, and then I am going right back to sleep. Do you ever have those days? Every once in awhile I'll have a night where I go to bed soo early, but have no problem sleeping until my alarm goes off. It is nice.

So, back to sleep I go! I hope you all had a good sleep with lovely dreams!

PS - The lovely Bubbles has passed on a blog award to me! Thanks so much, Bubbles! I'll be posting about it and passing it on tomorrow.
